Process of registration for an Apartments
Very often,
being the first one in the Lisa devises for the apartment, does not guarantee
that you will stay with this one, since the owners tend to be very selective
for their tenants. ie during winter (med - oct to med - mar) you can not be
evicted from the apartment even if you do not pay the rent. As an additional
piece of information, the eviction processes are usually long and complicated,
since the tenants have the right to appeal.
Due to the
great demand and protection to tenants, the owners take their time to choose
the tenants well to minimize risks of non-payment and future problems.
Sometimes a 'dossier' document or registration will be required for you and the
selection process can take weeks! Questions about yourself can be much deeper
than in your country.
Prepare for
these questions and try to take the following documents (and copies) with you:
your
residence permit and passport
payroll or
salary receipts (preferably the last 3 months) or any other proof of income,
such as an employment contract
your last
tax return (especially if employed by your account)
a letter
from your bank (not the statement) that says you are a good customer
a letter
from your parents (if you are a student) or other guarantee
A good tip
before committing to an apartment, is to visit the area day and night to see
how it is, or ask in the area. Quiet areas by day can become an unpleasant
place if there are bars nearby. And on the contrary, quiet neighborhoods at
night can be horrible for the day if there is traffic or buildings.
